World Malaria Day 2026

Hope for Future Generations (HFFG), in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service, commemorated World Malaria Day 2026 with a vibrant community outreach in the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, aimed at promoting awareness, prevention, and collective action against malaria.

The event, held at the forecourt of the Zongo Junction Mosque, drew a diverse group of participants, including community leaders, residents, students, health professionals, civil society organisations, donor partners, and members of the media. The venue was made available through the support of Muslim community leadership, reflecting strong local collaboration in advancing public health efforts.

Community members actively engaged in the programme, asking questions and contributing to discussions on malaria prevention, treatment, and elimination. The outreach also featured practical demonstrations, including the correct use and installation of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, equipping participants with essential tools to protect themselves and their families.

As part of the initiative, free malaria testing and basic health screenings were provided, highlighting the critical role of early detection and prompt treatment in reducing the burden of the disease.

HFFG expressed appreciation to all partners, community leaders, and participants whose contributions made the event impactful. HFGG also reiterated its commitment to working with communities and stakeholders to drive sustained action towards a malaria-free future.

Below are selected highlights from some speakers about the importance of awareness, prevention, and collective action against malaria.
