Project Summary
Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) is implementing the Challenge Facility for Civil Society Round 11 grant, which is the second phase of its project on Tuberculosis from March 2023 to February 2024. The project aims to reduce TB stigma, gender-based and human rights abuse using innovative and evidence-based community-led interventions in 9 high burden districts in Greater Accra, Central and Volta regions.
With TB affected communities at the centre of the project, HFFG, is leveraging strategic partnerships to raise awareness of TB challenges and advocate for change with real-time TB data gathered using the TBImpactGH App. (A digital application for collecting, analysing and reporting real-time issues faced by TB clients and their families).
As part of the project, HFFG is to develop a case study on the impact of the project in driving progress towards ending major barriers that prevent TB affected people from equitably accessing health and other social opportunities.
Project Goal:
To reduce TB stigma, gender-based violence and human rights abuses using innovative and evidence-based community-led interventions in 9 high burden districts in Greater Accra, Central and Volta regions by the end of 2023.
Purpose of the Case Study
The general objectives of this case study are to:
- Document at least three success stories and the impact of the TBImpactGH project in ending the barriers to TB diagnosis, care and treatment, particularly on human rights abuses, stigma and discrimination.
- Document the voices, perspectives, experiences of the people most affected by TB
- Contribute to a global TB community report of TB challenges, achievements, best practices and effective strategies
Responsibilities of the Technical Assistant
- The consultant is expected to develop at least three cases studies on human rights, Stigma and discrimination related barriers and the contribution of the TBImpactGH digital data collection and reporting.
- Train staff for identification of cases and lead the development of case studies and success stories for publication
- Conducts field research, interviews and reviews project reports and data collection findings
- Hire a professional photographer and take high resolution and quality pictures for the case studies
- Ensure all pictures taken have consent by the people for use in the case study, reporting to the donor and for online and external publications.
- Analyse data and write report
- Submit final Case Study report to management of HFFG by 31/1/2024
Expected Deliverables
- Submit at least three case study designs including methodology
- Submit Draft report for Management inputs
- Submit final case study report with pictures for TB related human right barriers that were addressed in the project
- Write TB related stigma and discrimination barriers that were addressed in the project
Fees
Fees will be discussed when selected.
Reporting and Communication:
It is expected that the consultant will report a minimum of one case study from each of the project implementing regions. The first draft of the case study shall be submitted to HFFG for review by 31st December 2023.
The consultant’s contractual obligations are complete once the HFFG Executive Director has reviewed and approved the case study report for quality and completeness as per the TOR.
